Biography

Yuri Markin was born in Astrakhan, Russia

He was started his professional study in 1959 as a student of Astrakhan Music secondary school, bass class and graduated 3 years. 

In 1964 Yuri Markin joined Moscow Conservatory, composition section lead by Rodion Shchedrin.

In 1980 as additional study he graduated 2nd Moscow Regional Music Special School named after Prokhofiev, piano section.

From 1977 to 1990 Yuri Markin worked as an educator and a chief of stage department in 3rd Regional Music Special School based in Elektrostal.

Since 1991 he is an educator in a State Music Special School of Stage&Jazz Art

Since 2000 - Yuri Markin is a member of Russian State Composers Union.  His composer oeuvre includes jazz and symphonic music.
